Hotel Tre Donzelle, along with Piccolo Hotel Etruria, is the most centrally located hotel in Siena, as it is only 10 meters away from Piazza del Campo, where the Palio takes place twice a year. Externally, the building has a 19th-century architectural style, but its origins date back many centuries, with the first records in the archives dating back to 1450. It seems that, in addition to being a hotel and tavern, it was also associated with a brothel in the past, as suggested by the name of the street.
